RIP Christopher Hitchens.

I would not be the man I am today without Christopher Hitchens. He aided in changing my life in such a profound way that I don’t think I’ll ever be able to accurately put down in words how much of an impact he had on me, but I will try. His books, speeches, and unapologetic mockery of religion was one of the catalysts that caused me to question and eventually shed my faith in the religion of my forefathers. Without him and a handful of other outspoken anti-theists I may well still be blindly following the literal translation of an ancient book written by a bunch of illiterate goat herders. I am profoundly saddened by his passing, but I’m at least relieved that he is no longer suffering. God is not great. 

Thank you for everything, Mr. Hitchens. 

I need to rewatch his debate with al sharpton tomorrow, I remember that one being really good.
